The Frame Garden is one of my favorite gallery spaces anywhere. It is small and intimate, just right for a uniquely themed show. Laura and her crew have a great eye for a variety of art. I never miss an opportunity to swing by during art walks to see what they have going on. It’s an honor to be included in their season.

The World Around Here Hanging at The Frame Garden!

The World Around Here is finally hanging on the walls at The Frame Garden!

Big, huge, sappy thanks to Traci Isaly for the invitation to show at the June Art Walk. Big, wet, sloppy kisses to my wife for being an art widow this month and for her ever-present and unwavering support in this selfish part of my life. Bear hugs to my kids for paying attention to what dad’s up to and sometimes hanging with me in the garage/studio.

I must also thank all of you who supported the project financially through the kickstarter.com campaign. Your support not only gave me some cash to make this happen, it also fuelled my drive to finish – it’s good to know people have your back when you’re working alone in the garage at 3AM. Your rewards will be fulfilled in July, after I nap for a few days.

And again, hats off to Alex Scaff for the artist-at-work-in-his-studio video. Again, it’s good to know it take a village to make some art.

Now come on down and check it out!

Cheers,

Storrs

Here’s the press release The Frame Garden put out for my show this Friday:

“Livingston Montana; The World Around Here, a series of photo collage essays constructed by photographic artist Storrs Bishop and guest artist Nathan Snow, will open at the Frame Garden Gallery Friday, June 28th and be on display through Monday, July 22nd. Bishop has been showing photographs in Livingston since 2003, however he took his first “art” photographs of litter on the banks of the Seine River in Paris when he was 12. Bishop studied photography at Syracuse University, producing a large portfolio of “mostly forgettable angst”. According Bishop, “The digital revolution has set me free from the burdensome costs of photographic expression, allowing me to produce the large work I want to create, thus illuminating a window into the world as I see it.”

Other artist showing their work at The Frame Garden will include photographic artist- Carol Polich, ceramic artist- Lisa Marshall, restoration painter/artist- Marjorie DeCline and The Frame Garden’s “in house” Photoshop genius & photographer- Duncan Moran.

There will be an artist reception at The Frame Garden, during the Livingston Gallery Association art-walk in downtown Livingston, from 5:30 -8:30. The Frame Garden is located at 110 east Callender, Livingston MT. For more information, call at 406-222-5122 or visit www.theframegarden.com.

Come out and enjoy the arts during the first art-walk of the 2013 summer season!”
